ABOUT MARTIN ROBERT SANCHEZ

Designer, educator, and theatre artist, Martin has recently relocated to Seattle from Texas to complete his MFA in Theatre Design from the University of Washington.  As a Latinx educator in the Texas public school system for thirteen years, he is often inspired by the diverse tapestry of culture, magic realism, and nature.  Martin is a past recipient of the Marvin Sims Foundation to study at the Kennedy Center Design Intensive (KCACTF); was awarded the Artist Foundation Grant for Costume Design from the San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs, and has received the Dallas Theatre Center “Project Discovery Grant” for his students for the past five years.  Martin is eager to return to his home in Dallas, where he can spend time with his husband, and two fur daughters, Marley and June.
